Description

Is it possible for an American Vice President to carry out a criminal enterprise inside the White House and have nobody remember? To have one of the most brazen political bribery scandals in American history play out before the country while nobody’s paying attention? In her first original podcast, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow goes back 45 years to dig into a story that got overshadowed in its day. There’s intrigue. Corruption. Envelopes of cash delivered to the White House. It’s a story that’s not well known, but it probably should be. Especially today. Bag Man. A Rachel Maddow podcast from MSNBC. Launching October 30th. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I have been deeply curious about this bit of ourstory, having lived through it, and knowing that nothing like the whole story was being told at the time. The "Slow Burn" podcast, for all that it was valuable, didn't assuage my curiosity at all on Agnew. Eye-opening. Did I remember to say "Thank you"? Thank you.

I love the content, but who decided to add *sponsors*, selling commercials in the streaming? Please, it lowers the importance of the message, distracts, and annoys.

minombre esnada I respect that, but why now food commercials in Bag Man? Listen to a few, like Rachel's and Chris Hays podcasts, and you might see what I mean. I don't remember them being in the first few. I'll have to go back and listen again.

Florence Duvall Nothing is free, man. You aren't paying for this podcast and money needs to be generated to compensate the team of people who make this possible.

Okay everyone, we have all agreed that this is an incredible piece of our history brilliantly researched and told by Rachel and Mike. How do we nominate this podcast for an award? As loyal listeners, we should be able to this. I'm new to this medium and I have no idea how to get the ball rolling on this.

I just can't believe this crazy story and that I've never heard or remembered it! I'm 54 but all I've ever known is Nixon and Watergate. It's quite remarkable and amazing the parallels going on right now in our nation!! Just WOW!!

This was the first time I was old enough to vote. I voted Democrat. I lived through it, but you are pulling out things that went over my head at the time. Thank you so much.

If you know nothing else about Rachel Maddow, know this: On her evening show at the Holidays she runs credits at the end of the show with everyone on her staff. As I watched the credit roll last year, when it got to the part for the job title, "Researcher," there were dozens if not hundreds of them. They went on and on. This is not Fox News where they make it up as they go. No, hers is show that shares facts, facts dug out by the fingers of many, many researchers and only THEN does she tells you what she makes of those facts.

Absolutely riveting, especially the story of the attempt to kill the investigation. Rachel is much more than a talking head; she is a brilliant journalist and political historian. Kudos to you Rachel! Please don't let this be your last project of this kind.
