Description

Mo Rocca has always loved obituaries. With Mobituaries he introduces listeners to the people who have long intrigued him—from the 20th century's greatest entertainer ... to the Civil Rights pioneer who is completely forgotten ... to sitcom characters gone all too soon. Even if you know the names, you’ve never understood why they matter…until now.

The podcast about Chang and Eng elevated the siamese twins, and Mobituaries as an awesome podcast.

we lost our home -- where I had planted an avocado tree and waited 5 years for the first yield. it was magnificent--hundreds of avocado every year for nearly 6 yrs. Then we lost the home. As I pass by the property now and see what lack of care the new owners give it I can't help but shed a tear. No fruit. No bed of leaves. No dampness to quell its thurst. After listening to this story I feel that maybe I'm not so crazy after all. I the not the only person who can love a simple tree

For those of you who just can't understand what it's like in Alabama: The Alabama/ Auburn rivalry is a lot like the current Republican/Democrat climate; sides have been chosen, and whichever side you're on cannot see any redeeming qualities in the opposition. Victory is only because of cheating, and is discounted by each rival. Any and all losses by the other team is celebrated as much as a victory of your own. Your team's losses are, of course, discounted or explained away because of cheating; and any hint of controversy by your team are excused because of something the other team did or was accused of doing in the past. Unlike the current political climate, football isn't year round. To be fair, in times of crisis like we just experienced in Lee County, both teams (of both examples) can, for a moment, come together for good. Thank you, for mentioning us, and our 23 lives lost in your podcast. May they rest in peace. I do wish your season was year round. I have truly enjoyed Mobituaries. Hurry back!

Don Cheadle as Sammy was widely acknowledged as the best thing about HBO's THE RAT PACK in '98. And this included Joe Montagna as Dean, William Peterson as JFK & Ray Liotta as Sinatra. I never really thought of Cheadle or Davis as sexy until I saw that performance!

After Audrey died, Richard Dreyfuss was asked about his experience working with her on what would be her final film, ALWAYS (she played his guardian angel - how appropriate!). His eyes filled with tears as he replied, "She was everything I ever thought she would be."
