What about food stamps? Why isnt this a social services issue? Why are medical doctors being blamed? As far as I know food stamps are restricted to healthier foods. You cant buy booze and junk food with food stamps. Maybe this is a social services education issue. Oh I guess common sense doesnt make the TED talk cut. Elements of a qualified TED talk = victims, race baiting, political bashing.

It is presumptuous to think Science should be agreeing with something that is a human construct, like morality. Science is just our attempt to understand how nature and physics work. It is above us. It doesn't have to agree with our constructed assumption that human life is sacred , love and kindness should dictate how we should live. However if we assume that living in harmony progresses peace and the study of science and therefore it is advantageous for us to live harmoniously to progress this study, it is scientifically logical to be a good human being.

When a scientist uses the worst religious people do against the best science can do, he clearly isn't objective and thus fails as a scientist. Scientists have done some purely evil things (think Japanese and German scientists during WW2), yet is this used as a reason why science is evil? Of course not. Science can tell you it kills someone if you poison them, but it doesn't tell you why it is wrong. In fact, scientifically one less person polluting the earth makes sense. How can science prove I should care about someone on the other side of the world if I don't know, and never will know, them? It doesn't make sense scientifically to spend time and money on something or someone that can never benefit you or your loved ones.
