another great episode!!!
Bodies don't think. Minds think.
Bodies follow minds. To change your body, change your mind. If your body is irrevocably damaged, you can still change what you think about it and in doing so, release yourself from the idea of physical entrapment and subsequent anxiety/tension.
Log Splitta Bodies do think, just not logically.
1:45:21 stop flirting joe

Jon Pabody Sharing bullshit is a big problem these days. Either site his actual statements/studies, or shut the fuck up.
Jon Pabody "First of all, I know of no scientific studies that support the notion that drinking one’s own urine is a worthwhile treatment for any condition."

too much anecdotal evidence for a large percentage of what he's claiming. not really thinking like a doctor.
Log Splitta Just because he IS a doctor doesn't mean that he's thinking LIKE a doctor. Having a doctorate doesn't automatically mean that you're right.
Liam S You didn't listen then. He IS a doctor.
Great podcast. Bisping is stud!
This guys good but 50% is quackery not on the same leve as Chris Kresser.
A major question on this podcast was centered around, why do we not "use" the placebo affect. One thing struck me that I don't believe was discussed. Admittedly, I don't know the research out there. I would think one of the major hurdles in people's minds would be; "What is the comparitive efficacy length correlation between a drug and it's associated placebo affect?" Given all else equal (as much as possible there being so many factors in convincing the mind) if X drug is effective and it is effective for X amount of time in one group how does that compare to the placebo group(s) X time of efficacy? I know as I was listening I thought well yeah the placebo affect may work but for how long? If there were studies that show a high similarity it could be a significant factor in changing the public opinion.
On another note. In reference to the conversation where Joe can't believe that someone can use there state of mind to mitigate physical affects, such as the burning. I am with his skepticism but, what if it's an affect similar to the placebo affect, just extremely fast. So in the example of burning someone, if the "mind is out of the way" your body is so quick to allow it's own healing that while it was injured at the time of contact, it healed perceptibly instantaneously. Now this may go off the rails a bit but if you tie it into the quantum world where time can get quarky you might be able to delve further into the rabbit hole of thought into this subject. Think about how time seems to slow down when you're adrenaline is pumping and therefore you can react quicker and be stronger. Maybe this explains why it would be possible to not be affected by the heat. Your healing affects speed up and are able to react quicker. Just some thought from someone who knows nothing about it.
Michael Bayless hey...this ain't facebook. take your diatribe somewhere else.

Keahi Duarte Joe may not see it, but perhaps someone that works in his network may. If it's a well formed statement, it may reach him. 99% won't.
