Hempcrete is a really neat product. There is a couple of companies in Canada that are trying to bring it to the forefront. Its fireproof, pest resistant, a carbon sink and hemp itself is incredibly multi use. Food for humans and animals, cloth, paper, bioplastics and oh so much more. It would make a good topic to do a podcast about (hint hint).

(Re: 206 last person comment) While I think Java is a great first language (I say this as the author of the 30 Days of Code tutorial series), this person sounds like a dabbler and I agree something like Python would be better for them to learn as an intro (or only) language where you can accomplish a lot without fully understanding what you’re doing. I would suggest they check out courses on Udemy (sign up for their emails — they have sales all the time and you can end up with courses for under $20 that enable you to learn at your own pace), get a highly-rated intro book, or if they’re really committed to self-driven learning they could get an O’Reilly Safari membership for access to books and videos about pretty much anything they might want to learn. Right now it seems their biggest issue is choice paralysis and they need to pick a thing, designate X time every day to developing it, and set a deadline for themselves to check in and see if they want to continue. Even if they cut their losses, they’ve still gained valuable context about the thing and also peace of mind because they will have found a new passion or know it’s not for them. Also the stalker advice earlier is 100% the only thing that works (or at least drastically reduces stalking incidences).

the last guy on feedback Friday should definitely take Python and not java. It is easier to learn and use in non Enterprise web application contexts. It really shines in scripting and machine learning, data science. which makes it much more versatile and useful if you have it as an addition to your usual work. you could write scripts that ease up your normal work. That's much harder to do in java. I would only suggest java if you want to be a full-time software engineer. cheers

Oh I do not like the new intro music at all. I always liked that you had none. I, like most listeners of podcasts (from what I've heard) listen on x1.5 or greater speed, and music doesn't sound good in that context. Also it just distracted me (moreso because of the change) and I had to go back and listen to the intro again because I failed to take in the info. Still loving the show though and congrats on passing 200!

Look, any tax increase is a BAD idea. I know you have your heart in the right place, but until they stop *wasting* money, they shouldn't ask for more. ---------------------------- "The problem isn't a Congress that won't cut spending or a president who won't raise taxes. The problem is an American public with a bottomless sense of entitlement to federal money." -- Good one from PJ O'rourke -------------------- but yeah, until I see us stopping spending money on war (Iran next ?) etc, then no, anyone paying more in taxes is a bad thing.

good interview, I listen to podcast n not read books. I feel books are slow pace learning time consuming outdated soon n often put me to sleep. I prefer podcasts n spend like 6-7 hrs daily (while at workplace) because podcasts are fast pace a great variety of subjects, summarized great ideas n points squeezed in 1-2 hour from experts by great interviewers (ie: Jordan Harbinger/Joe Rogan). call me lazy or efficient 😉 time is scarce so much to learn, books r so old-school. I actually think if ppl don't podcast r similar to like ppl without color TV still watching black n white TV. u cavemenz! pfff

Jordan Harbinger wow just 10% covered in podcasts..hmm thx Jordan u may be right. Your feedback helps. I may look into audiobooks if it's just 10 hours. I guess we can look at podcasts as good way to get nice short summaries n deep dive if some ideas connect well n explore deeper thru books n other contents. Another plus side for podcasts is that we get to hear the WHY N HOW guest came up with their ideas n how their personal life events lead them to it. so I definitely love podcasts, think they are growing popular when I see tv comedians (ie: Conan o Bryan) starting their own podcast. thx J man for quality guests.

ForexTraderNYC Disagree. Not reading books and only listening to podcasts is like reading the back covers and a random chapter or two of a book and thinking you understand and grasp what’s inside. Most podcasts just barely scratch the surface of what’s in a book. Audiobooks are routinely 10+ hours long, with only the author talking. Podcasts are maybe 10% of that with more than the author’s voice.

Literally every time I listen to this show, I learn multiple things. How do I know I've internalized the information? I live it. Part of what he's doing is teaching better connecting and I use the show to reconnect and connect with people in my life by sharing specific episodes and the resources shared within them. If you're an event organizer, this Podcast is a must. horrible advice for the 2nd one...that guy was just a weak minded loser looking for approval to be an even bigger loser. all you should've said was eat less you fat SOB and try having some self respect and respect for your wife and it's your duty to be as good a role model as possible for your children. it's not rocket science. and what's with the playing victim for being fat his whole life...no one's making you slurp down jelly donut after jelly donut.

love the Jordan advice so practical.,I was in pakistan in January 2019 for whole month, it's my origin n it's as liberal as dubai n people are super warm n friendly so let's not believe media hype. what' I dislike in pk culture is respect for parents is way too high even if they(parents) r wrong, kids don't have courage to spk out out of here respect.. all parents mean well but sometimes parents don't know well n don't bother asking like My uncle got super offended cuz I was on Keto diet n felt I was disrespectful towards food! haha..they believe medical things passed around on social media vs. actual medical journal tested stuff. young generation in pk is Lit, I'd say it's same for anywhere.. Public beheadings in KSA are usually against drug traffickers or capital punishment against worst killers/crimnals to give lesson to public for bad deeds bad consequences thingy. in USA we also do similar things, just diff format of capital punishment (indoor in quite room).

ForexTraderNYC Agree, but I view KSA as a horrible and unjust regime of dictators and human rights violators. That kid didn’t deserve the death penalty for political speech.

Jordan Harbinger awesome 2c Jordan interact. Yes, KSA doesn't take crime lightly. The seemingly harsh punishment deter future crimnals n has been effective, crime rate is super low in KSA. In KSA protest format is different(write to govt), public street protest are highly discouraged, they can lead to revolt/bloodshed/chaos (ie: Arab spring) street protests are ineffective ie: whole globe millions ppl protested in streets against Iraq war, but War continued despite no WMD. I think that 18 yr kid got involved w/ wrong crowd n should've known better then to go against a very authoritative govt which doesn't take crime/terrorism lightly.
