misleading title in that the bulk of this very interesting episode had nothing to do with Minus. Also, you're both wordy so your conversation was an exhilarating listen.

hmmm...Ward's book might be good (I am in line to borrow it from the library) but she's not really adding much to a live conversation IMO.

Interesting back story about ther reporters from Buzz Feed but I come to this podcast to hear about Trump's dealings, not the reporters. Without these amazing reporters and their passion the regular Joe like me won't have insights, but it's ther story, not the author that I care about.

I would have found this better to listen to if Virginia had bothered to look up the proper pronunciation of any of the Japanese names.

Trump derangement syndrome is strong in this podcast .... It's astonishing how delusional democrats can get . Especially when it comes to defending pure evil like Bill and Hillary Clinton . maybe its for the best that all these people get psychological help.... lets just hope the shrinks are not political and can help these Liberals get their sanity back .

Hope indeed. I just wish I could have made out what he was saying a bit more. His words were almost unintelligible for me.

jack mchogoff your confidence in predicting the future is impressive. I don't possess that skill. all I can say is "we'll see" and "who knows?"

The problem is Kasparov is speaking out of both sides of his mouth. He blames Democrats for putting forward unattractive candidate who are unattractive because they are centrist, yet he dismisses the "far left" as polarising and conflates them with the far right. He wants change, but only if everything remains the same. He wants to solve the problem with the same world view that created it - a true reactionary. He brings nothing new to the discourse that you won't hear from any establishment Democrat.

I like the idea of hearing a champion game player's ideas about current events in the Big Game of American politics. somehow this conversation didn't deliver the promise of the notion and I am not sure why. Kasparov speaks in large-brush pronouncements but when pressed to provide specific details, he doesn't offer much.

Alex Mercedes This is a classic case of doublethink. The political centre is unattractive, but the far left (a.k.a democratic socialist) can't win elections because they are divisive. We must not talk about policies (or proactive strategies for that matter). We just have to defeat Trumpism. This is why when pressed, he must retreat back into banal generalities. He is being intellectually dishonest... and he knows it.

OMG I love this podcast but I cringe every time this presenter pronounces the word American as "Ömarican" - I wish someone would take him aside and sit down with him for 5 or 10 minutes just having him repeat correctly: "American. American. American." No excuse for his continued butchering of this relatively simple speech act.

there's a theory that Kilymnik set the Trump team up. He used secured phone lines for all his calls except those made to the Trump team. The idea goes that he knew they'd be caught out, as he knew he was being surveilled, and that the unrest it would cause in the US would cause massive unrest and dysfunction. The Trump team shouldn't have been shady or foolish enough to fall for it, but that they did, inadvertently meant the Russians won more than the election.

excellent report on a critical and complex issue. one small correction: the poverty your guest described as "difficult for Americans to" imagine (maybe not the word he used) is difficult for many but not all Americans. some Americans are actually living in dire poverty, without running water or electricity in the home, if they have a home at all, and eating meat once a week with luck.

do "differences of opinion" indicate a divided party? or just a sign that folks are creatively engaged in the process?
