I came here to escape politics - it's impossible, apparently. Your narrow view completely ruined this episode for me. Really disappointed, as I love this show.

I think my favorite part of the whole podcast was (in the 2nd story) when she said "shit", and her father said "Watch the language." For some reason, it kinda picture-framed him for me and gave me a clearer understanding of what all this meant to him... where he was coming from, his integrity. Even though he later said the same word himself (and immediately apologized 😉)

I cant believe he said at the end that people have 'given'/donated themselves for the science and he can do whatever he likes to them, even 'make burgers'. completely disgusting, that he doesn't see the ethical isssue to it. It's not about the 'contract' but the moral conduct of it all.

Seems to be the moral of the story is if your a minority and act like an ignorant schlub, people will find ways to excuse your behvaviour s long it fits their own agenda, and overzealous racial justice warriors are fine as long as its not targeted at other minorities.... Kids are kids and most are ignorant, that's not their fault, it's the adults and education providers failure..

this man deserves to be prosecuted, regardless of his intent. What he did is completely unethical and flat out wrong. Criminal.

L K He definitely sounded like he was lying and got caught because he didn't expect the TAL staff to contact the other people involved.

My ex had psychotic breaks like this, towards the end of our marriage. He was in film school, taking Adderall and opiates all the time, and going days without sleep (all 3 are a dangerous recipe for disaster) - and he straight up snapped. I went to stay with my mom, before I realized what had really happened, and he accused me the next day of scaling the apartment building, and sneaking into our room on the 4th floor, to move furniture around while he wasn't there. A few years after our divorce, I found out that I had been starring as the villain in many of his psychotic dilusions over the years, even though I hadn't seen or spoken to him at all. It's sad. He is amazingly intelligent, and outrageously funny - but extremely unstable. Especially since he won't quit mixing uppers and downers. Stay away from drugs kids! 😒

That person "Luftus" who wrote the article, who violated Nicole was a douchbag. She just basically did what she wanted to do and refused to acknowledge Nicole's rights. I'm sorry but this is unacceptable, as Nicole was traumatized all over again. Sheesh.

Incredible story on "miseducation." A kind of necessary de-schooling, perhaps? As an educator in higher education interested in the politics of recognition, this certainly gave me a lot of food for thought, particularly in terms of questions around racial identity, decolonising the curriculum, the power of student voice uninhibited by the powers that be - and how to go about inculcating all of this is students (most of whom, in my case, come from privileged backgrounds).
