Description

She is a three-time medalist and the most decorated Paralympic snowboarder in US history. Amy Purdy defied the odds throughout her life to accomplish some extraordinary things. Despite fighting for her life and losing both of her legs below the knees at the age of 19, her passion for living without limits carried her not only to the upper levels of athletics but onto the dance floor of Hollywood and well, well beyond. This girl even toured with OPRAH, and that’s not even the most impressive accomplishment on her long, long list.

I’m so inspired by Amy. When she went through one of the most traumatizing events I can imagine, she came out victorious on the other side -- but I know it couldn’t have been easy. How do we handle hard things, find the positives in a difficult situation, and cope with “losing” the career you planned on? In this episode, Amy shared what she *really* means when she wants you to LIVE INSPIRED. This one’s a tear jerker… in the best way.

I loved this episode. I am also "disabled" though I have an invisible illness so strangers don't really notice. I love hearing about other successful women who are thriving despite having a "disability". I am a mom, a wife, a college student, and a volunteer. Like Amy, I do more than people without the obstacles do and I think it's because I like to go against expectations and still help others. I would love to hear more from goal diggers like Amy! And as always, Jenna you are amazing. You guide the conversation in such a way that I feel like you ask the questions as I'm thinking them!
