Wow! I can't believe some of the comments on here. How is she NOT a victim? Not only were there victims he murdered but the families of those victims became victims. I bet the close friends of those women feel victimized as well. Yet, she doesn't count in your book as a victim of her father. YOU get tfoh with that.

I shouldn't have read these comments. Melissa is a human and she was raised by a serial killer. She isn't making things more dramatic than they need to be she is retelling her experience as a child. Just because he didn't beat her doesn't mean he wasn't terrible. My parents never hit me but were able to cause significant damage due to their mental Illness. You all need to be kinder.

episode 9. seriously... your dad never hit you and sometimes he tickled you till it wasn't funny to you anymore? that's childhood, difference between your pop and mine was I got my ass beat. trying to dig up shit that makes no sense to embolden "your side" overall sounds like he was a decent dad to you more decent than most people end up getting. sure he killed people, not you or you siblings or your mother. you're not the victim here, but you're making money off the tragedy, if anything you're a benefactor of your fathers malevolence. done with this show

just started.. And crying about "threatening" to spank you with the belt but DIDNT? gtfo most of us got the belt, that's why we're not crying about emotional distress. you need to be pushed beyond your "comfort " it's not that he can "do what he wants " it's called helping you grow

Shaun Edwards what's sad is having no empathy for someone raised in an abusive household, as if verbal abuse and mental abuse don't exist. what's sad is someone who thinks beating children helps hem grow.

She lost me when she met up with the last victims son. I dont care what her mouth says, she shows with her reactions how she wants to be a victim of her father. The traumatic events she has spoken of, some seem like the rants of an extra sensitive child. The 8 and there families are the victims, I think she is traumatized but mainly by her own thoughts and all the stories she has heard. I can't seen to sympathize with her anymore. Her fathers letters seem to cut her so deeply because he is speaking SOME facts that she may not want to face as truth.

Melissa's father, Keith said they put him in chains when he was moved within the jail: "I was assumed to be a cold-blooded murderer who would kill anyone they got their hands on..." No shit, probably because YOU ARE a "cold-blooded murderer". I hope they keep him locked up and in chains until his last breath.
