A decent lovecraftian story. But in trying to emulate Lovecraft, this author becomes way more repetitive than critics claimed the master himself was.

Did the author of this story just look at a list of cities in Indiana and pick a random one? Merrillville is no where near Indianapolis and it is quite a large town with the biggest mall and shopping center in this part of northwest Indiana! I am kind of offended lol!

My favorite podcast to listen to at work, on a long drive, or even a break from stress. Keep up the great work. Otis is the best storyteller I have heard. You really make the story come to life. Thank you for all your work :)

Thanks so much! I loved listening to the CBS Radio Mystery Theater growing up in So-Cal. The clock maker story reminded very much of Brown, Marshall, and Co. Pleasant Dreams? Squeaking heavy ancient door, slowly closes.... Thanks again Otis 👻

Like others have stated, the wrong description has been added to this episode. Regarding the actual story, it started out quite well and was mysterious and engaging. However, during the last third, the storyline turned completely around into a cheesy, overly saccharine, preachy religious tale, the likes of which you would expect from a low-budget, Christian television movie produced by Pat Robertson or Oral Roberts. Any elements of mystery, terror, and horror completely disappeared. I couldn't have been more disappointed, especially after investing close to two hours listening to the first two thirds of this long tale.
